COVID-19 Vaccination for the 2026–2027 Season

COVID-19 vaccination will start on Thursday, October 1.
People who are eligible for the Hamamatsu City subsidy, such as those aged 65 and over, can receive one subsidized dose between October 1, 2026 and March 31, 2027. People who are not eligible can also get the vaccine as a voluntary vaccination (you pay the full cost).

Before Your Visit

・To make your visit smoother, please take your temperature at home and fill in the pre-vaccination questionnaire.
・You can get this vaccine on the same day as the flu vaccine (see separate information). If you are worried, please get them on different days.

① Vaccination with the Hamamatsu City Subsidy

Who can get it:
People registered as residents of Hamamatsu City who meet one of the following:
・Age 65 or older on the day of vaccination
・Age 60 to 64 on the day of vaccination, with a disability of the heart, kidneys, or respiratory system, or of the immune system due to HIV, at a level equal to Grade 1 of the Physical Disability Certificate

Subsidy period / Number of doses:
・October 1, 2026 – March 31, 2027 / 1 dose during this period
*A second or later dose during this period is not covered by the subsidy.

Notice from the city:
At the end of September, Hamamatsu City sends a notice to people aged 65, together with the notice for the flu vaccine for older adults. You do not need to bring this notice to our clinic. If you are eligible, you can get the vaccine even if you have not received the notice.

Side Effects and Precautions

・After vaccination, you may have pain where the shot was given, tiredness, headache, muscle or joint pain, chills, diarrhea, or fever.
・In rare cases, anaphylaxis (a severe allergic reaction), myocarditis, pericarditis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome have been reported.
・If you have any symptoms that worry you after vaccination, please contact our clinic or your family doctor.
・Vaccination is your own choice. Please decide after understanding both the benefits and the risks of side effects.
